About
I live in Colorado with Dave and four daughters. We have a lot of fun, and we’re grateful– for our family, our church, friends, the mountains, oceans and the love of God.
The best part is Crossroads Church, in Loveland. Every morning I wake up happy and surprised, because I’m part of this pastoral team and the Crossroads family. I’m also grateful for the Evangelical Covenant denomination– pastors, churches and missionaries world wide.
Most days, I find myself in conversation with curious and caring people. So this blog is about the things we care and wonder about: God, beauty, our humanness, wellness, sickness, spirituality, friendship, gender, children, justice…
And what is the pilgrim’s door?
The great cathedrals have a pilgrim’s door– a free entrance for people who have come as pilgrims rather than tourists. We don’t need a ticket to enter through the pilgrim’s door. There is no fee, and there are no hours of operation. Anyone may enter the door at any time: Light a candle, say a prayer, and maybe even talk to a pastor or a stranger. (Or a strange pastor).
The pilgrim’s door dismantles the idea of insiders and outsiders, because anyone can come inside: weary travelers, serious worshipers, or tourists just looking. Whether you’ve come to watch or worship, you’re welcome at Crossroads, and you’re welcome here.
By the way, Crossroads is not responsible for anything goofy that happens here.
